Corona Virus: Fears of a second wave in Iran after high number of infections

The high number of Coronavirus infections in Iran has raised fears of a second wave in the country that has known the largest spread of the virus in the Middle East.

 The Ministry of Health announced that 3574 injuries were recorded on Wednesday, the third day that more than 3,000 injuries were recorded.

 Another 59 deaths were reported, bringing the number of deaths to 8071. The high number of Coronavirus infections in Iran has raised fears of a second wave in the country that has known the largest spread of the virus in the Middle East.

 Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has announced the possibility of re-imposing restrictions if people do not adhere to social separation standards and hygiene rules.

 The number of daily injuries had peaked on 30 March, when 3,186 cases were recorded, before it began to decline steadily until it recorded 802 cases in the second of May.

 The new figures recorded on Wednesday raise the total number of injuries in the country to 164,270.
